Prof. White begins the talk                         photo: R Allen-Sherwood 2014
I recently had a talk with Professor John White on the subject of space as an aesthetic / philosophical consideration . Professor White is a retired art historian, lecturer, scholar, science buff, glider plane pilot and published poet who happens to be in his mid-eighties..

He is also the designer of Three Wheels Zen Garden- a karesansui or dry-landscape style garden, originally created for the purpose of contemplation or meditation practices.

Those of you who have been following my blog will recognise the garden as a source of inspiration and the driving force behind the art work I've created since starting up this blog one year ago..

For a space enthusiast like myself, having this opportunity to interview Professor White was a great honour. It gave me a (brief) glimpse into the complex inner workings of an bona-fide Space Meister.. (My brain exploded.)

I will be posting the outcome of our conversation very soon, so please stay tuned and keep watching this space. (Don't forget tea and biscuits).
